Crosses 700

Its a special day for me .. not today .. but last to last saturday, i think it was the 19th of July. That's the day I gave the first Official GMAT prep and got a 730 !
last year at approximately the same time I had scored a 650
and had eventually ended up with a score not much greater than that in the actual exam :(

Anyways that was last year .. this year i am sure .. its gonna "Rock On" !
By the way, I also took the GMAT dates yesterday and am now in full swing for the
studies .. for now I can see not just the silver lining of the clouds .. but can very well
feel my back against the wall ! For if its not this time, perhaps its going to be never !

I know I am already late for the apps, so I am kind of catching up with the app essays
and Junta's Gyan on the same.. will have to manage the essays parallel to the GMAT preps
I don't have an option so I will have to make the best of it !

And Lord Murphy is such a loyal PITA (pain-in-the-ass), that he has made sure that I am
fully loaded with work in office now, when I need time the most !
Well anyways you gotta fight the odds and no one made it to the best with
everything all planned up and smooth ! So I will fight, if it requires me to, I will struggle if that's what it needs !

Hope to put some good scores and prep experience soon !

update after one year ..

Its been one year since I posted on this blog or rather any of my blogs
i used to post on .. I cannot put the blame on the lack-of-time for time is something I have lost value of over the last few months ..

Anyways just to update, I did gave GMAT finally and with all the hard work I mustered in about 5 weeks of serious preparations, I barely manged to get a score .. alas I am still not satisfied
since I couldn't cross the 700 mark.

Since then I have changed bases, and I am now in Canada ... the work still sucks but the
only difference is that the work-pressure is much lesser.

I have easily slipped into a much laid back lifestyle and although I must admit that has been quite enjoyable .. I have now seriously started hating myself for doing so.

I need to pull my socks and give the exam again, and obviously the kind of schools I am aiming at
demand a much stellar performance than merely crossing the 700 mark. I have the wisdom from the last trial at GMAT and my experience at CAT .. all I need is a drive, a fire in the belly and stick up my ass ... to push this through ;)

As for fire and drive its taking a lot of time... and I guess the best to get all three is to take a test date. As of now I am on a week-long vacation at a friends place in US, but the realisation of wasting the last 6 months is seriously hitting me on the head now. I have to wake up from this slumber, I have to start the preps damn seriously and start working on the applications in the next 5-6 weeks !

I hope to maintain this awareness and keep up the drive ...

all the best all us MBA wannabes !

Phir Teri Yaad Aayee

Its been exactly 1 year 4 days, since I last posted or rather as I shamefully admit
even viewed this blog. Well so have been my kismet or rather I should say a lack-of-focus.
It has been an eventful year, while I was away
I guess I had got my promotion somewhere around the time I wrote the first post
and after more than year now, I am hoping rather fighting for the next one.
In this period I happened to work for 5 telecoms majors, 3 in the last 4 months !
For about 6 months I was in UK exploring future prospects and sacrificing some
dreams I fadely remember now...
All said and done, this fateful night I visit this blog again, in search of the old dream ..
I hope the one I am dreaming now is going to last till its fruition :-)
I am back here ... for a new ambition ... rather a ambition reborn !
I am back for some GMAT prep ! Hope to keep this blog active in the coming days !

Lakshya MBA

I should Have started this blog long back, considering the long period since I have been fighting to get into a good B-School. While choosing the URL for the blog, I was very apprehensive about choosing the name "lakshya-mba", which itself shows how much confusion I still probably have about the importance of being an MBA. However, I have no doubts, that I am very soon going to pursue an MBA course myself.

For the time being, I am starting this blog to probably help others and myself reach the hallowed portals of a B-School. I hope to put as much relevant info possible on this forum, related with my preps for the Battle. Hope it shall be helpfull to others as well.

Regards,
Hasan
